About the designTurning off the light at bedtime is always an unsettling
moment for children. This sudden change in atmosphere doesn't always
correspond to the different sleeping phases for children and their individual characters.
This touch-sensitive lamp designed for children, offers 3 lighting options
so the child can establish their own bedtime ritual.
Simply stroke the lamp to activate or change the light. The interface remains cold
to the touch, so making it suitable for children from birth. Different lighting modes :
white light for activities before going to bed, changing colours aimed at calming the child,
a standby mode to reassure them.
The shape is inspired by a diabolo. The form of the toy has been applied to mimic
a child sleeping standing up with their head to one side. This inflexion produces a type
of character which accompanies the child. The object was intended to be "magical",
without any visible components and shadowy areas. A translucent plastic material
was therefore used.
